Binh Thuan allows to exploit some seafood specialties in the local waters from August 1st

BTO –From August 1st, 2016 until March 31st, 2017, individuals and organizations are allowed to tap some seafood specialties, including: scallop,Anadara subcrenata, Modiolus philippinarum, Atrina vexillum, Paphia Undulat, by diving in the waters of Binh Thuan province, according to the announcement released by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (ARD).

According to the announcement, fishing-ship owner has to get permission from the Sub-department of Fisheries and fulfill all diving requirements before exploiting those seafood specialties. All seafood, which is in smaller size than the minimum size as prescribed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is strictly prohibited for exploitation.

Particularly, seafood specialities, which are allowed to catch, must be as large as the minimum length as stipulated: 60 millimetres for scallop; 55 millimetres for Anadara subcrenata; 120 millimetres for Modiolus philippinarum; 150 millimetres for Atrina vexillum; and 55 millimetres m for Paphia Undulata.

The information is required to spread widely via media for the fishery-related individuals and organizations to grasp easily. The provincial border guards, divisions of economy, agriculture and rural development of coastal districts, town, city will cooperate with the department of ARD to boost control, inspection and handle with cases in breach of the regulations.
