Traditional mooncake recipes introduced

BTO- Binh Thuan tourism has become more attractive and familiar to visitors from inside and outside Vietnam, so local enterprises must continuously work to create and introduce new-fangled products for their guests’ satisfaction.

Cuisine is one of dispensable ingredients of tourism industry, so traditional recipes have been sellected to lure more visitors. On the occasion of the coming Mid Autumn celebration, Binh Thuan Chef and Bartender branch (directly under Binh Thuan Tourism Association (BTA)) lately held an event at Saigon-Muine Resort for its members to learn more about traditional mooncake recipes to serve tourists. The event converged 39 chefs and pastry chefs from resorts, hotels and other accommodations in the locality.

Female chef Truong Thi Thu Lieu- head of Binh Thuan Chef and Bartender branch, has instructed other cooks in detail steps (preparing filling,  cover and baking) to make baked mooncakes and sticky rice mooncakes. She also shared some secrets and techniques to create delicious mooncakes.  The mooncake recipe performance has attracted attention of many interntaional tourists. They had the best chance to learn about mooncake making and the significance of the cake that is only served in the August’s full moon festival.

With the purpose of diversifying tourism products to attract more visitors to Phan Thiet-Binh Thuan, local chefs and cooks are planning to organize some programmes to display cooking and mixing some specialities of Binh Thuan, including dishes made from dragon fruit.
