The event, which took place in Phan Thiet city, had the attendance of deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Thoa, deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam, deputy Secretary of Binh Thuan provincial Party Committee Duong Van An, vice chairman of Binh Thuan provincial People’s Committee Luong Van Hai and representatives of trade sector from many provinces and cities nationwide, nearly 20 companies from Guangxi province (China), as well as hundreds of Vietnamese enterprises specializing in producing, trading and exporting dragon fruit.
According to Kim Thoa, the conference has created the best chances for state management agencies, dragon fruit growing localities and businesses to directly meet and make exchanges with each other to promote their potentialities and advantages, suggest solutions to the current shortcomings in order to facilitate the sustainable development of dragon fruit as one of key fruit of Vietnam, raise the fruit’s productivity and consumption.
Vice chairman Luong Van Hai, on behalf of Binh Thuan’s leaders, highly appreciated the organization of the event, saying that such conferences are needed to be held in other locations globally, especially in China, one the world’s largest markets of dragon fruit. After the conference, many important contracts on dragon fruit production and consumption were signed between Vietnamese and international enterprises.
