700 national flags donated to local fishermen
BTO – The Ho Chi
Minh Communist Youth Union branch of the Department of Industry and Trade on
November 4 handed over 700 national flags to the provincial Border Guard as
gifts for fishermen in Binh Thuan province.
Speaking at the
handing-over ceremony, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tran Viet Hung- deputy
political commissar of the provincial Border Guard expressed thankfulness for
this meaning presents as well as the Department of Industry and Trade’s support
in propagandizing national sovereignty over sea and islands. Those gifts will
contribute to giving local fishermen more spiritual strength in clinging to the
sea to develop production and protect national sovereignty over sea and islands.
He stressed that the flags would be handed to fishermen in the province and
called the unit to keep on assisting in other programs.
Over the past
years, under the campaign “Presenting national flags and Uncle Ho’s portraits to
fishermen” launched by the Vietnam Border Guard High Command, the provincial
Border Guard has given thousands of national flags and portraits of late
President Ho Chi Minh to fishermen households in Binh Thuan, contributing to
strengthening the solidarity between the army and residents living in sea
boundary areas, promoting propaganda on national sovereignty over sea and
islands, promoting patriotism and responsibility for protecting the Fatherland’s
national sovereignty.
