Cooperation Agreement signing ceremony between Binh Thuan tourism sector and PMU Netherlands

BTO – A cooperation agreement signing ceremony between Binh Thuan Tourism Association, BTA training and consulting Limited Company and the Dutch PUM project took place on Tuesday morning (August 9th) at Sai Gon Mui Ne resort (Phan Thiet city).

At the event, the tripartite co-operation agreement focuses on training and developing human resources in the areas of tourism, restaurant, hotels. Attending the ceremony, there were deputy director of the Binh Thuan Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Hoang Tuyet Linh,  Chairman of the Binh Thuan Tourism Association Nguyen Van Khoa, Mr. Phung Trong Hieu – director of BTA training and consulting company and Mr. Vincent Molkenboer – PUM-expert and manager-director of a vocational school for Hospitality in Holland.

The signing ceremony’s objectives cover the following contents: setting up training curriculum on specialist skills based on VTOS (Vietnam Tourism occupational skills standards); setting up training curriculum on soft skills; setting up a system to ensure training quality and granting certificates to the BTA training and consulting company; establishing a consulting council and criteria to assess the human resources in line with the tourism standards; training on-site trainers/lecturers; setting up hands-on programs at some private enterprises.  

The projects is expected to be implemented within 3 years (2016-2018). During the  fixed time, many PUM’s senior experts will be sent to the locality for project deployment. Total budget costs reportedly EUR 83,000. Of  which, EUR 63,000 comes from the backing of the PUM Netherlands while an equivalent amount of EUR 14,000 is sourced from BTA company and an approximate Euro 7,000 is funded by the members of Binh Thuan Tourism Association.

The event marks a milestone in the development of long-term tourism cooperation, contributing to improve the qualities and skills of human resources for the local tourism sector, meeting the global demands for travel services.
