Vietnam finishes third at ASEAN School Games

Vietnam finished third at the ASEAN School Games in Thailand on July 27.

The Vietnamese athletes grabbed 19 gold, 20 silver and 15 bronze medals.

Thailand took top position, winning 56 titles. Indonesia came in second with 30.

On the last day of competition on July 27, Vietnamese track-and-field athletes Le Trung Duc and Hoang Thi Trang won gold in the boy’s and girl’s 2,000m steeplechase, Tran Mai Hanh won the girl’s 200m race, and the Vietnamese girl’s 4x400m relay team also won gold.

The Vietnamese team also pocketed one silver and one bronze medal.

Track-and-field were Vietnam’s most successful team at the Games with 11 gold medals.

The Games will end on July 29.
