At this national sport festival, that takes place every four year for young athletes from high schools nationwide, local sports team consists of 55 athletes and 12 coaches, competing in 5 sports events: Vovinam, basketball (in Thanh Hoa), athletics, Taekwondo, and Karate (in Nghe An). As reported, Binh Thuan sports attained 24 medals at the 8th national Phu Dong Sports Festival 2012 in Can Tho City (including 3 gold, 8 silver and 13 bronze medals)
