BTO- As of late June 2016, Binh Thuan authorities have levied administrative fined on some 17 cases of fraud Chinese dealers illegally operating, purchasing and manipulating the prices and markets of dragon fruit in Binh Thuan province with an amount up to VND 410 million totally. Of these, several cases are recidivism, some violates the current laws on immigration, trading and other unlicensed activities in Vietnam in general and in Binh Thuan in particular.
To manage the trading activities of dragon fruit well, the Department of Industry and Trade in cooperation with the province’s police, the Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Agriculture and rural Development, Department of Labor-Invalids and Social Affairs, the People’s Committee of Ham Thuan Nam and Ham Thuan Bac districts have generalized and instructed Vietnamese national traders how to make dragon fruit selling procedures with foreigners. Additionally, they also offered guidance to Chinese nationals who want to establish joint-venture companies or a 100 percent foreign-owned business in Binh Thuan.
The local businesses should negotiate, discuss actively with Chinese nationals before coming to a business agreement in accordance with the Vietnam’s laws, avoiding lending a hand for Chinese dealers to dominate the prices and supply of Binh Thuan dragon fruit.
