Nurturing, caring for revolutionary contributors- a lofty duty and obligation

BTO- The spirit of “When drinking water, remembering its sources” and “When eating fruit, thinking about person who planted the tree” are moral and cultural traditions that have been preserved by Vietnamese people  through thousands of years. With such meaningful purpose, the provincial Center for Social Support (the Center for short) always attaches special importance to taking care of people with meritorious services to the nation, especially, old-age people with weakening health conditions and lack of family support.

Kindly caring

Being established since September, 2017, the Center has performed its major functions and tasks to nurture and care for revolutionary contributors. Currently, 197 people (including 11 older people) are being taken care of  by staffs of the center. Under the tradition of “Drinking water, remembering its sources”, plus deep gratitude, their duty and obligation, the center’s care-givers have performed their work thoughtfully and whole-heartedly to ensure nutritious meals  for wounded soldiers and other people with meritorious services, with food hygiene and safety, as well as healthy recipes suitable for each groups of care-receivers.

The center also pays attention to providing health care and rehabilitation for people from families of policy beneficiaries. Elderly people, wounded and sick soldiers are taken to medical facilities for regular health check-ups twice a year. In addition, the center’s doctors also conduct daily health examinations for them to classify their health conditions in order to implement reasonable health care options, which can help medical workers timely detect, diagnose and give the patients suitable treatments, or take patients with serious conditions to the upper-level medical facilities.

To improve the quality of taking care of revolutionary contributors, the center’s managing board has well performed works related to environmental management and protection, with the aims to boost sanitation and preventive measures, by cleaning the campus and dormitories with regular disinfection to prevent infectious diseases.

Better nurturing

Especially, on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947-2020), Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Manh Hung paid visit and presented gifts to wound and sick soldiers living in the center. When speaking with revolutionary contributors and policy beneficiaries here, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung warmly conveyed his wishes for their good health and expressed deep gratitude to all of them for their great merits and contributions to the cause of national liberation and independence. He highly appreciated and praised the center’s staffs who have given the best care to people with meritorious services to the nations. Acknowledging the efforts of officials and employees of the provincial center of Social Support in nurturing and taking care of policy beneficiaries and national contributors, Secretary Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized that, the Party and State always consider caring for wounded and sick soldiers as their noble task and obligation, showing respect and gratitude to their invaluable sacrifices and contributions to national defence.

Over the past time, authorities at all levels in Binh Thuan province have implemented “Paying debt of gratitude” work effectively and widely in the whole society, reflecting the consistent policy of the Party and State, and the morality “When drinking water, remember its sources” of the whole people. Secretary Nguyen Manh Hung asked departments, authorities at all levels and cadres to keep on striving to accomplish their tasks of caring and fostering revolutionary contributors.
