The event, co-organised by the Ho Chi Minh City municipal People’s Committee, the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global) and the Trinh Cong Son Fund, connected many locations across the country.

Arranged in three parts, themed ‘Motherland in my heart’, ‘Vietnam – Trust in Victory’, and ‘Thanks for Love’, the programme gathered many popular singers and artists nationwide who performed songs praising the love for the home country, love for live and Vietnamese people’s fine traditions.

Video clips honouring contributions of medical staff, artists and frontline workers in battling out with COVID-19 were also screened on the occasion.

Addressing the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, who is also Head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, highly evaluated the organisers for hosting the programme, sharing that music plays an important role in inspiring motivation, lighting up hope, and connecting people.

He hailed that beyond being a music event, the programme contributed to upholding the great national unity of Vietnamese people, stressing that no matter where they are living across the globe, Vietnamese people always turn their hearts to and provide support for their beloved motherland.

The Party and State always appreciate spiritual and material contributions of Vietnamese people around the world, he said, emphasising that the Party and State will continue their high political determination, great efforts and drastic actions with appropriate solutions to adapt safely and effectively control the COVID-19 pandemic in order to boost socio-economic economic recovery and development.
