Phan Thiet loosens some restrictions on social distancing measures from September 8th

BTO- Binh Thuan authorities on September 6th convened an online meeting with leaders of localities and relevant agencies to discuss Covid-19 control and prevention. Attending the meeting, there were Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Duong Van An, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Tuan Phong.

According to the health sector, Binh Thuan has so far reported over 2,603 cases infected with Covid-19. Of these, 985 cases are under treatment at medical facilities, 1,592 cases have been recovered and discharged from hospital, 30 deaths).

It is suggested to impose Social Distancing measures under Directive No.15 of the Prime Minister to the whole City of Phan Thiet, excepting some high-risk areas, from September 8th. Consequently, the municipal authorities of Phan Thiet suggested loosening some restrictions to the whole city except those of high-risk areas.

As for La Gi Town, the town is also in the “red region” or high-risk areas so it can not loosen restrictions on Covid-19 prevention and control.

Concluded the meeting, Chairman Phong assessed that the Covid-19 developments are still very complicated, especially some news infection cases in the districts. However, the province’s leaders agreed to loosen some restrictions to Phan Thiet city, excepting wards/areas are being lockdown.
