No new COVID-19 infections in community for two weeks
Vietnam recorded no new COVID-19 cases on September 16, marking two weeks in a
row without infections in the community since the latest outbreak hit central Da
Nang city on July 25, according the National Steering Committee
for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The total number of COVID-19 infections remained at 1,063, of which 691
are locally transmitted cases.
On September 16, five COVID-19 patients, including two in Quang Nam and three in
Da Nang, were given the all-clear, bringing the total number of recovery to 936.
There have been 35 deaths related to the disease.
As many as 32,417 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or entered
Vietnam from pandemic-hit regions are being quarantined nationwide, including
471 in hospitals, 16,591 in concentrated quarantine establishments and 168,355
at home.
The Health Ministry has called on residents to wear masks in public places,
regularly wash hands with soap, avoid crowd gatherings, and install Bluezone app
to receive infection risk alerts.
