Campaign “Exchanging scraps for green trees” held in Phan Thiet city

BTO- Hundreds of students and local residents lately joined a special event entitled “Exchanging scraps for green trees” held by Green Phan Thiet- a group of  young environmental activists in Phan Thiet city.

Many young people were interested in taking their old books, newspapers, cartons, beer cans, plastic bottles, and everything that can be recycled to the event and receiving pots of echeveria, cacti. In the first day, the group has collected about 1 tons of scraps of all kinds. Beside receiving green trees, children who took part in this campaign also joined meaningful playgrounds, funny contests and games, such as: English speaking exchange, a contest named “Dexterity with your hands” to plant and decorate echeveria pots…

As reported, the program has set a target of collecting about 1.2 tons of scraps. All profit from selling them will be used to fund a bookcase for Son Lam primary and secondary schools in Phan Son commune, Bac Binh district.
