Certificate recognising architectural relics for Thanh Minh pagoda and Ngu Hanh temple in Phan Thiet

BTO - Thanh Minh pagoda and Ngu Hanh temple have been recognized a certificate for architecture relics by Binh Thuan People’s Committee, with the participation of secretary of Nguyen Manh Hung, Head of Binh Thuan Fatherland Front Committee Bo Thi Xuan Linh, Deputy of Binh Thuan People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Hoa. The event has been solemnly held by Rang Dong group.

Thanh Minh pagoda was built 140 years ago (King Tu Duc in 1876). Its campus has  Ngu Hanh temple worshiping five Mother Goddesses. According to Oriental philosophy, the Mother Goddesses incarnate five elements ( metal - wood – water – fire – earth)creating the universe. There was no proper care for a long time. Therefore, the pagoda was seriously degradated and almost completely destroyed. By the end of 2012, Rang Dong group received the project of Phan Thiet golf from the foreign investor, including Thanh Minh pagoda and Ngu Hanh temple. Leaders of Rang Dong group realized its cultural and architectural vestiges are very valuable . Thus, the entire pagoda was embellished in October 2015 and finished on October 2016. Rang Dong group was granted a certificate recognizing architectural relics for Thanh Minh pagoda and Ngu Hanh temple by Binh Thuan People’s Committee. The pagoda has welcomed visitors since Tet holidays – 2017.
