Surveying Luy river basin affected by climate change

BTO - Workshop on reporting regional socio-economic at Luy river basin (Bac Binh district) affected by climate change was held by Binh Thuan Department of Planning and Investment, last weekend.

At the workshop, experts, scientists  summarized economic and social status for the last 5 years such as pace of development in agriculture - forestry - fisheries, horticulture, livestock, services, education, population, income, poverty rate, water demand… They proposed that Phan Tien and Song Binh communes where socio-economic conditions are difficult need to get support; plan for integrated disaster risk management and integrated water risk management at Luy river basin, media coverage of climate change issues in Bac Binh district. Bac Binh delegation suggested that the consulting firm adds the El Nino phenomenon to reduce its negative impacts; raising co-ordination capacity of local government in water source management and urban planning in the context of climate change… . In 2016, Binh Thuan people are fighting hash drought due to the El Nino.
