Binh Thuan tourist businesses:

Always comply with anti-nCoV actions on the basis of cultured behaviors

BTO – “Always respect and behave well to all international tourists from all over the world, but strictly follow regulations on anti-coronavirus actions”, said Director of the Binh Thuan Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ngo Minh Chinh as he made a working trip around the Ham Tien – Mui Ne tourist area on February 4th.

At his visited sites including Pandanus resort and Anatara resort, Mr. Chinh informed the developments of the acute respiratory coronavirus all nationwide and worldwide. Basing on the Government’s and The MoCST’s Directives, the administrations and travel companies are urged to welcome accommodation tourists, but take a special notice to Chinese tourists or tourists returning from epidemic-hit regions. Those coronavirus suspected tourists shall be served privately and carefully quarantined and isolated promptly if necessary.

In the light of complicated developments 2019-nCoV, the tourist service staffs are recommended to raise their alerts for the sake of tourists and staffs’ health. Those anti-coronavirus actions include wearing face masks, distributing free gloves at the receptionists, spraying with disinfectant and using body-temperature measuring devices. Additionally, all behaviors must be smart, polite and cultured towards all kinds of visitors domestically and internationally.

Figures from the police of Ham Tien ward showed that there were 154 Chinese tourists in the locality as of Feb 4th morning, while Mui Ne reported there were 44 Chinese ones. However, 18 Chinese tourists had checked out the Mui Ne tourist accommodation as of 12:00PM on the same day of Feb 4th. The two localities have not yet found any cases of coronavirus so far.

In the meantime, almost all of tourist accommodations in the province have halted receiving tourists from the nCoV-hit regions and territories under the newly-issued Directive of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VAT).

Earlier report dated January 31st, the total tourist volume in the locality has hit 19,000, including 8,600 domestic visitors and 10,441 international ones. Particularly, a majority of internationals come from Russia (6,598 tourists), South Korea (583), Germany (446), the US (314), France (242), Ukraine (227), The UK (209), Sweden (198), the Netherlands (169), Australia (144) and china (200).

At the present, some earlier-arrived Chinese tourists are still staying in Binh Thuan’s accommodations while all room reservations from China have been cancelled due to coronavirus concerns. As preliminarily reports, the local tourism revenues posted a slightly decrease.

Reportedly, the provincial tourism sector has ramped up efforts to respond to the epidemic caused by the Wuhan virus so as to curb the viral spread in the locality.
