According to Mrs Ngo Thi Tuyet- chairwoman of Phan thiet’s Women’s Union, beside a get-together to commemorate the estalishment of Vietnam Women’s Union, multiple forms of activities were celebrated in 20 grassroots’ organizations, such as: art & cultural exchanges, culinary competitions, picking flowers and answering questions inside, fashion performance, propagation short plays, picnics. The activities aim to enhance the awareness of law, the Party and State’s policies among members of Women’s Union, thereby improve the implementation of 6 key tasks of Vietnam Women’s Union, policy in population and family planning, breast feeding, environmental protection, food safety and hygiene … In 2016, a new branch of Women’s Union was formed in Ngoc Uyen confecionery production facility in Phan thiet city with 10 members, contributing to promoting propaganda on food safety and hygiene as well as creating connection between local women. The Women’s Union of Phan Thiet city also accomplished anumber of community-based programmes, such as: building 200 meters of rural road and installing 5 lamps along the route to Tien Hiep hamlet-Tien Loi commune; offering compassion houses to poor members,; presenting 20 gifts and 200 notebooks to poor studious students… with a total value of VND 40 million.
