In particular, the National Assembly deputies’ delegation of Binh Thuan province offered 8 gifts (worth VND 400,000 each) to elderly people at the provincial center for taking care of people who have made contributions to the national independence. Binh Thuan Lottery Company and Division for Social Sponsoring (directly under the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs) offered 60 gifts to elderly people in the communes of Vu Hoa (Duc Linh district) and Duc Hanh (Tanh Linh district). Phan Thiet Garment Export Joint Stock Company brought 33 presents to elderly people in Ham Liem commune (Ham Thuan Bac district). Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development - Binh Thuan Branch offered 20 gifts to senior residents in Thuan Minh commune (Ham Thuan Bac district) while many elderly people in Phong Phu commune (Tuy Phong district) were given 100 gifts by Co-opmart Phan Thiet supermarket and Anh Hoang Thy Limited Company (Dong Nai province).
Currently, the gift-giving programme in favour of the elderly is undergoing with the theme “Join efforts in support of elderly people with extremely difficult circumstances, elderly people living in loneliness and helplessness.
