First 10,000 ton-vessel arrived in Vinh Tan international seaport

BTO – The Spring Hummer, a 10,000-ton-Vessel from Belize in South America, have arrived in Vinh Tan International seaport on July 17th morning. The vessel, which carries 1,300 tons of machines and equipment to the Vinh Tan 4 Thermal power plant, departed from Hong Kong previous day. Those machines and equipment are bought in preparation for the completion of the plant by October.

This is the first foreign vessel moored in Vinh Tan international seaport since its inauguration in last April. “The welcome of this Spring Hummer, with a dead-weight of 10,000 tonnes, marks a significant milestone in the hope that the port can receive many more international vessels”, said leader of Vinh Tan international seaport JSC.

In the upcoming time, the Vinh Tan Port will welcome a number of international ships carrying coal dust in combination with conveying ash from Vinh Tan thermal power plants of 1, 2 and 4. The transport of local agricultural products to other countries is expected to conduct at the Port.

Vinh Tan International Port is invested by Vinh Tan International Port JSC, a member of Pacific Corporation. With an investment capital of about VND 2.3 trillion, the project covers a total area of 140 ha in Vinh Tan commune, Tuy Phong district. Being invested with full and synchronous infrastructure,  with bulk cargo yard system, construction material, silo yard, general cargo yard, container yard with an area of approximately 110.000 m2 and warehouse with an area of over 5.000 m2, Vinh Tan International Port is one of the very first seaport invested by a domestic private enterprise.
