The delegation of Binh Thuan province, led by chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Hai, included deputy secrectary of the provincial Party committee Huynh Thanh Canh, director of the department of Culture-Sports and Tourism Ngo Minh Chinh, and representative leaders of other departments.

At the conference, delegates discussed mechanisms and policies to resolve bottlenecks and create conditions for cities and provinces to develop, especially in terms of resource mobilization to develop infrastructure and marine tourism and other sectors.

With the coastal line of 1,900 km, the central region is a strategic area in terms of politics, economics, society, defense and security. It plays a crucial role for  sustainable development of maritime economy under Resolution No.36-NQ/TW. It is where all elements of Vietnames tourism resources (sea and isalands, ecosystem, cultural characteristics, mountains, forests …) converge, with several heritage site recognized by UNESCO and many world- class resorts which is ranked by international media. Tourism is slowly becoming a strong incentive for smokeless industry in the Central region, as slated by the Ministry of Planning & Investment. In 2018, the whole region welcomed over 54 million tourists, of which 11.9 million were foreign visitors (accounting for 39.8% of the total international visitors  coming to Vietnam) earning a total of VND 121,670 billion (making up 19.4% of the country’s total Tourism revenue).

The conference created a platform for leaders of the central Government to collect opinions, ideas from representatives of domestic and international associations, scholars, economic experts, as well as entrepreneurs and leaders of the localities, therefore propose resolutions and policies to fully promote advantages and potential of the Central region, turn the region into one of the coutry’s major economic hubs, with a connectivity between provinces/city.

Speaking at the event, Binh Thuan’s leaders emphasized that the province has implemented programs to boost the cooperation and linkage for socioeconomic development with Ho Chi minh City, Da Nang City, and  provinces in the central region and central highlands, as follows: Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Dak Lak, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue, and those programs have brought certain results.  Especially, with the purpose of enhancing tourism promotion between Binh Thuan and other provinces/cities in the region, the “Tourism development Triangle program -period 2013-2018 under the theme “Ben Thanh Market- Da Lat Flower-Mui Ne Beach” has been implemented with remarkable outcomes in terms of investment attraction and development of tourism sector of the three localities. For many years, Binh Thuan has effectively exploited local advantages to develop many sectors, such as: energy, agro-forestry-fishery processing, tourism,  seaport…, with many big projects under construction and operation.

Earlier, an exhibition highlighting socioeconomic achievements of cetral localities was held on August 19. The booth of Binh Thuan province has introduced local tourism products to attract the investment in its tourism center in Mui Ne.
