Poor children enjoy a cosy Mid-Autumn season

BTO -  When the 2016 Mid-Autumn festival is coming, individuals and organizations in Binh Thuan province get busy with charity activities to bring gifts and joy to underprivileged children across the province.

In the mountainous commune of My Thanh-Ham Thuan Nam district, a charity event named “Smiles in the full moon” for local children was held in the evening of September 10 by a group of young people from an association of Binh Thuan people in Ho Chi Minh city in partnership with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union branch of Ham Thuan Nam district. During the event, children participated in folk games with interesting rewards, received Mid-Autumn gifts including moon-shaped cakes, milk and lanterns to take in a lantern procession on country roads. The total cost of this festive event was mobilized from businesses and philanthropists in Ho Chi Minh city.

More than poor students in Phan Thiet compassion school lately took part in a Mid-Autumn festival organized by the provincial Police right at the school. Most of the school’s students are from poor households in Phu Trinh ward (Phan Thiet city). They were really happy when enjoying a warm and funny festival with gifts, lanterns and cakes. Another 50 students from Phan Thiet compassion school also participated in a charity programme themed “The trip of the dream” at Lotte Mart supper market, where they enjoyed free fried chicken, movies and interesting games.

* In the evening of September 11, school children in Ham Kiem commune (Ham Thuan Nam district joined Mid-Autumn festival co-held by Sacombank-Binh Thuan branch, An Phuoc General hospital, Binh Thuan Newspaper and some local enterprises. The festival included many charity programs such as: giving eye examinations and offering free eyeglasses to students in Ham Kiem I and Ham Kiem II elementary schools. Especially, sponsors also launched the programme “Green school”  in Ham Kiem II school, where students joined hands on drawing pictures on the walls, planting green trees, and getting free notebooks. Students of Ham Kiem I school also had fun with folk games, food court festival, lion dance show and Mid-Autumn gifts. At the same time, poor children in quarter 6 –Phu Thuy ward-Phan Thiet city welcomed a cosy Mid-Autumn festival and received 200 presents cosisting of candies, moon cakes and lanternsin a funny art programme sponsored by Muoi Tuyen and Trung Nga enterprises.

* In the mountainous commune of La Da-Ham Thuan Bac district, the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Branch in collaboration with Binh Thuan Children House and Ham Thuan Bac district’s Youth Union organized a full moon festive night for students and children of ethnic minorities in the evening of September 12. Through it was raining, children had an enjoyable event. 850 Mid-Autumn gifts (including confectionary and lanterns) with a total value of over VND 42 million were offered to local children.
