56 products get certificates of  OCOP program 

BTO-Department of Agriculture and Rural Development lately held a conference to announce and award certificates to 56 products qualified  3-star and 4-star standards in the provincial program “One Commune, One Product” 2020.

In 2020, functional agencies have worked together to support 51 institutions with 82 products engaging in OCOP program. After 3 rounds of qualification, 30 and 26  products (in 38 categories) have been recognized as the provincial 3-star and 4-star standards.

Those products have been certified by the provincial People’s Committee and labeled  “OCOP Binh Thuan” on their packing as stipulated. The products’ ratings will be valid within 3 years since being recognized.

According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc- deputy director of department of Agriculture and Rural Development cum deputy head of the qualification board, the implementation of OCOP project has a meaningful role in socioeconomic development, contributing to improving income and creating more jobs for residents, boosting the efforts of poverty reduction in the locality. At the same time, the program also helps change production pattern towards market economy.

regard to period 2021-2025, OCOP program will be implemented with traditional products and advantageous products in rural areas. At the same time, the 2020’s 56 3-star and 4-star products will be upgraded to reach 3-5 products with national 5-star standard.
