Binh Thuan:
Agencies, organizations, officials and citizens join hands to support flood-hit
residents in the central region
BTO- In response to the
provincial committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front’s call for the whole people to
donate to funds in support of people in the central provinces, who suffered
heavy losses of life and property caused by the recent floods and landslide,
many agencies, units and localities in Binh Thuan have actively opened charity
campaigns to collect donations to help flood-hit people overcome difficulties.
In particular, officials and
employees in the office of the National Assembly deputies’ delegation of Binh
Thuan province, office of the provincial People’s Council, office of the
provincial Party Committee actively donated cash to the needy in flood-affected
localities. The fund will be handed over to the province’s relief fund run by
the provincial committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The provincial department of
Public Security on October 21 also launched a fundraising program among
officials and cadres to collect money, foodstuffs and other necessities and then
took to needy people in the central region. According to Colonel Tran Van Toan-Director
of the provincial department of the provincial Public Security, besides donating
one-day salary, officials, officers and employees of public security sector also
voluntarily donated more cash, with a total fund of VND 500 million.
Ham Thuan Bac district’s
committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front recently launched a program calling
officials, officers, civil servents, armed forces and local people to donate
cash and goods in support of people in difficult circumstances due to flood and
torrential rain in the central region. The program attracted the donations of
numerous officials and people, with a total amount of VND 33 million.
