Delegation of MoFA visited and worked with Vinh Tan 1 Corporation
BTO – A delegation led by
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung visited Vinh Tan 1 limited
company on September 7th afternoon. Accompanying with the delegates, there was
Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Tuan Phong,
representatives of the provincial Party Committee Office, and the Department of
Trade and Industry.

Company has represented the operational process of the Vinh Tan 1 BOT thermal
power plant. The plant was kicked off in 2015 with an installed capacity of
2x620MW inside the campus of Vinh Tan Electricity Center. Since November 2018,
the plant has come into operation at a high additional charge, with a total
output of over 17 billion kWh. In August alone, due to the impact of the
Covid-19 epidemic, the company has maintained its power production with nearly 6
billion Kwh, gaining 70 percent of the plan, and meeting about 3.5 percent of
the Country’s electricity demand.
Currently, the Company is
employing 500 Vietnamese laborers, including 75 percent of the local residents.
Besides, the Company has taken strict measures to ensure environmental
protection during operation, especially measures against dust spread in the slag
area.
Addressing the meeting,
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung highly appraised the Company’s
achievement over the past time, especially their efforts in environmental
protection and the Covid-19 control and prevention. Deputy Minister Trung urged
the company promptly to promote their achievements, keeping on project
operation, and finding partners to treat the ash, protecting the overall
environment.
On the same day, Deputy
Minister Trung visited Aroma resort in Phu Hai ward, Phan Thiet city.
