Binh Thuan: 293,000 students enter the new school year 2020-2021

BTO – The opening ceremonies for the new academic year 2020-2021 were held across Binh Thuan province on Saturday morning (September 5), with about 293,000 students of all education levels.
Correspondents of Binh Thuan Newspaper has recorded images of teachers, students, as well as the atmosphere of the opening ceremonies in primary, secondary, and high schools in many regions.
Under the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training, the opening ceremonies nationwide took place in a short form, ensuring the motto of being solemn and student-oriented in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Provincial Party Leader attended the opening ceremonies for the new academic year 2020-2021 in La Gi town.

* Accordingly, the opening ceremony of Nguyen Hue High School (La Gi town) had the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung –Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Mrs. Nguyen Thi ToanThang-Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, along with leaders of La Gi town and the school’s teachers and students. According to Rector Dinh Van Tuan, this academic year, the school has a total of 1,515 students of grades 10,11, and 12. Teachers and students have changed teaching and learning models in order to maintain education quality while effectively preventing the pandemic. Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung praised excellent performance made by the managing board, teaching staff and students of Nguyen Hue high school in the last school year, saying that the school should promote its achievements in the implementation of tasks in this school year.

* In Ham Thuan Bac high school (Ham Thuan Bac district), the opening ceremony was held with the presence of standing deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Huynh Thanh Canh. The event took place within 45 minutes with the participation of 1,991 students (including 756 students of the 10th grade). In the previous academic year, Ham Thuan Bac high school has performed its teaching mission with remarkable results. In particular, 1,003 or 56.66% of students achieved excellent and good results. Graduation rates (of 12th graders) reached 99.81%. Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Huynh Thanh Canh warmly commended the school’s achievements over the past time. He emphasized that the school’s teaching staff should promote the emulation movement “Good teaching, Good learning” and focus on educating students about national traditions, history, and culture, ethics, healthy lifestyle, awareness of law observance. At the same time, teachers need to change teaching methods towards promoting students’ personal abilities; apply information technology to teaching programs. Each teacher should be an exemplary person for students to practice their morality and study in order to become useful citizens in the future.

At the opening ceremony, 44 scholarships (worth VND 1 million each) sponsored by local enterprises, organizations, former students, and students’ parents were given to poor studious students.
* On the same day, Chairman of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ngoc Hai attended the opening ceremony in the provincial boarding school for ethnic students.
In the school year 2019-2020, teaching and learning were considerably affected by Covid-19 outbreaks. But students gained higher learning results than that of the previous years. Especially, 100% of 12th-grade students passed the national high school graduation exam 2020.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Hai thoughtfully recommended students to study hard and strive to gain the best achievements, especially focus on developing their foreign language abilities to easily find good jobs in the future.

* The opening ceremony, the academic year 2020-2021 of Tran Hung Dao gifted high school (Phan Thiet city) had the attendance of Mr. Duong Van An- deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee.
According to Rector Duong Duc Tuan, in the school year 2019-2020, teachers and students have actively carried out measures to perform teaching and learning tasks amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Hence, the percentage of students graduating from the national high school exam reached 100%.

* At Phan Chu Trinh high school (Phan Thiet city), the opening ceremony had the honor to welcome the special attendance of Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh-vice chairman of the provincial People’s Council. About 1,000 students representing more than 2,000 students in total participated in a brief opening ceremony, which was organized within 30 minutes.
* Le Quy Don primary-secondary-high school (Phan Thiet city) held the opening ceremony for the academic year 2020-2012 with the presence of Mr. Le Tuan Phong- Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and representatives, local authorities, teachers, and students.

* The opening ceremony of the new school year at Phan Boi Chau high schools (Phan Thiet city) was also organized in the morning of September 5, with the participation of Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoa- vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee. Mr. Hoa emphasized that the school year 2020-2021 started in the condition of preventing the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, so teachers and students should ry the best to overcome difficulties to well perform teaching and learning. The school welcomed 1,012 students of the 10th grade in this school year.

* In Phu Quy island district, all educational institutions of all levels simultaneously held the opening ceremonies on Saturday morning (September 5). The island now has a total of 10 primaries, secondary and high schools, with the total students of 7,348. Teachers and students of Phu Quy district will boost efforts to complete all tasks of the school year 2020-2021.
* At Le Loi secondary and high school (Phan Thiet city), Mr. Phan Van Dang- head of the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Inspection attended the opening ceremony along with teachers and 1,500 students (including 550 students of 6th grade and 10th grade). On that occasion, Vietinbank (Binh Thuan Branch) granted many scholarships to students with excellent study achievements in the previous school year 2019-2020.
* Also on September 5, Mrs. Bo Thi Xuan Linh-Chairwoman of the provincial Committee for Vietnam Fatherland Front attended the opening ceremony in Huynh Thuc Khang high school (Tan Thang commune-Ham Tan district), while Mrs. Nguyen Thi Phuc-deputy head of the provincial delegation of National Assembly deputies attended the familiar event held at Quang Trung high school (Duc Linh district).
