The landscape is also known as “Mui Ne Sand Dunes” as it is associated with the administrative place where it is located. Otherwise, its other name “Doi Hong” came from the salient color of pink in combination of fine sand and iron mines. According to researchers, the red sand dunes in Binh Thuan are generally sedimentary sources of wind and sea that was formed during the "fourth" period and directly related to the fluctuations of sea level during tidal waves.
