Phan Thiet water tower recognized as provincial cultural relic

BTO – On February 26th morning, a ceremony in recognition of Phan Thiet water tower as provincial cultural relic was held by the Department of Culture-Sport and Tourism in coordination of Phan Thiet city People’s committee.

At the event

The water tower of Phan Thiet city was built in 1928 and completed in 1934. It was designed by architect Xuphanuvông – a royal member of Laos. The tower water’s function used to provide water for the local residents, becoming a signal of the locals through many generations. The tower is also a great inspiration for artists to compose work art.

Over the past 80 years of existence and developments, the water tower has stood still in the heart of the Phan Thiet city. Reportedly, a nearly 7.4-ha area of Phan Thiet water tower was localized for ease of protection and embellishment.
